We strongly adhere to the Certified Performance Technologist Standards set forth by the International Society for Perfomance Improvement:

There are 10 standards that competent practitioners follow in the practice of human performance technology. The first four standards are sometimes called principles because they are fundamental to every standard. Some aspect of each of these standards will be found in every phase of a project.

The first four standards are:

  • Standard 1: Focus on Results or Outcomes

  • Standard 2: Take a Systemic View

  • Standard 3: Add Value

  • Standard 4: Work in Partnership with Clients and Stakeholders

Competent practitioners follow a systematic process represented by the remaining standards:

  • Standard 5: Determine Need or Opportunity

  • Standard 6: Determine Cause

  • Standard 7: Design Solutions including Implementation and Evaluation

  • Standard 8: Ensure Solutions’ Conformity and Feasibility

  • Standard 9: Implement Solutions

  • Standard 10: Evaluate Results and Impact

As well as the Association for Educational Communications and Technology Code of Professional Ethics:

  • Commitment to the individual

  • Commitment to society

  • Commitment to the profession

Colbi Lehman

Founder & CEO

Colbi received her undergraduate degree in Secondary Education from Indiana University. After graduation, she entered the workforce and started her career with the Indiana Department of Child Services as a Family Case Manager. Although the work was emotionally challenging, Colbi had found her true passion in working to help children and families.

Eventually, Colbi found herself working to help support the educational needs of the Indiana Department of Child Services as an Instructional Technology Developer for the Indiana Child Welfare Education and Training Partnership. While working she obtained her Masters Degree in Adult Education and Instructional Systems Technology through Indiana University.

It was then that Colbi saw the need for Hoosiers Instructional Technologists.
